Hi, I'm Ryan — and I started Tech with a Toolbox because after 12 years at Geek Squad, I kept seeing the same problem: people would invest in great smart home technology, then struggle to get it working the way it should. TVs sitting in boxes. WiFi dead zones. Smart locks nobody could figure out. Security cameras pointing at the wrong things.

For seven of those years at Geek Squad, I specialized in home theater and smart home installations. I've done hundreds of setups across the Twin Cities — everything from simple TV mounts to whole-home automation systems. And what I love most is that moment when it all clicks for a customer. The lights respond to their voice for the first time. The family can finally stream in every room without buffering. The security system actually makes them feel secure.

But here's what makes Tech with a Toolbox different: I also have 15 years of hands-on experience maintaining and renovating my own home. That means I don't just install your smart thermostat — I can also mount the shelf you've been meaning to hang, fix the outlet that's been loose for months, or handle the cable management so your setup actually looks clean.

Tech with a Toolbox is based in Eden Prairie and serves the greater Twin Cities metro area. Every job is done by me personally — you won't get a random subcontractor. I show up on time, I do clean work, and I don't leave until everything works exactly the way it should.
